If you think of lizards at all, you think of those little reptiles that you see scurrying down a tree trunk or across your back door at dusk. There are many different types of lizards in the reptile family, and the group as a whole has some very interesting behaviors. The first unusual behavior, and the one most people know, is that they can separate from their tails when they are in danger of being caught. You may have experienced this as a child when trying to catch one of the small lizards or striped skinks, and ended up with only a tail in your hand.

The Texas gecko actually uses his tail as a decoy when confronted by a predator, such as a snake. The gecko makes his tail point straight up, waves it slowly from side to side, and then sheds the tail. The tail itself continues to wriggle for several minutes, and is hopefully more interesting prey than the gecko itself. Lizard’s tails are made so that a wall of cartilage passes through several vertebra in the tail, and the blood vessels and muscles are modified at these points to allow easy breakage without much damage to the lizard. It will grow a new tail, but never quite the same as the original tail.

It seems like new information is discovered about something every day. And the topic of Reptiles is no exception. Keep reading to get more fresh news about Reptiles.

A number of lizards also avoid being eaten by changing color, in order to blend in with the background. It generally only takes several seconds for a lizard to expand the pigment in its skin to become more like his surrounding colors. This color change is made even more effective if the lizard remains motionless. Even without color change, a number of lizards can effectively play dead, or, as we normally call it, “play possum”. A number of predators need the vibration or sounds of movement to detect the where the lizard is, and so becoming entirely rigid can be an effective way of disappearing from the menu of the predator.

When a lizard is not being chased by a predator, it can do interesting and unusual things with its tongue. The tongues of reptiles can come in a number of different shapes, and lizard tongues are usually either long and narrow with a forked tip at the end, or short and broad. Both kinds of tongues are used to collect molecules from the air and bring them back to an organ in their mouth. This is a sense different than either smell or taste, but somewhat similar to each in some respects. Geckos use their long tongue to clean off their eyes, as many geckos do not have eyelids, and so wipe their eyes with their tongues. One Great Plains lizard regularly licks her eggs while waiting for them to hatch. In Australia, a skink with a bright blue tongue sticks out its tongue at predators, and lets it stay lolling out of its mouth. Naturalists are not sure of the reason for this behavior. Finally, chameleons use their long and sticky tongue to reel in their nightly diet of insects.

These behaviors are only the tip of the iceberg for this fascinating group of reptiles. Make your own study of these beautiful and unusual creatures, whether capturing one in your backyard, or discovering those a world away at the library.

There’s no getting around it: a budget is a requirement for good money management. There’s no need to have a negative attitude about budgeting. Stop thinking about budgeting as a difficult task or a punishment for being an impulsive spender. And stop thinking about it as a financial diet.

A budget is simply a tool to increase your consciousness of how and where you spend your money. It is also guideline to help you spend your money on the things that are most important to you.

A budget is to successful money management as a rudder is to a ship. Without it you muddle through, unable to stay on course because you have no course charted and you have no equipment for steering through the currents that constantly swirl around you.

Traditionally, many people managed their money by dividing their cash into several paper envelopes. These envelopes are for food, entertainment, utilities, insurance, vacation, etc. They then spent their money from these envelopes. They always knew how much money they had left to spend, and how long it had to last.

Today, there are so-called budgeting tools that can help in creating and sticking to a budget in careful consideration of how much you earn.

What is a budgeting tool?

A budgeting tool is an on-line tool or software that is used to enter expenditures and serves as a guide to follow your budget.

Such a tool is a system that will make the budgeting processes easier and more accurate and can be used to assess operating performance during the year more accurately. These tools for flexible budgeting have been available for years but mostly have been used in other non-service and manufacturing industries.

See how much you can learn about Budgeting when you take a little time to read a well-researched article? Don’t miss out on the rest of this great information.

What are the benefits of using a budgeting tool?

You can find everything you expect in a budgeting tool including retirement planning, estate planning, capital needs analysis, budgeting, what-if scenarios, disability needs analysis, education needs analysis, cash flow and tax planning, balance sheets, among others.

These systems help you to easily create and manage payments so you will never have to worry about another late fee, postage or licking stamps.

On-line tools also means easy access to information from anywhere, at anytime which allows you to always know exactly how much you have left to spend. At the same time, it will make informed spending decisions based on your budget entries.

There really is no need for you to invest in a fancy budgeting tool in order to do a budget, but a good one will make the job easier.

Many banks are now offering free PC banking and free personal finance software. You simply dial into the bank’s computer or use web-based banking services, and download the checks that have cleared your account, directly into your personal finance software. Whatever budgeting tool you choose for your financial planning, the most important thing is that you are planning for your financial future. In praying the rosary, an individual can meditate upon the different significant events in the life of Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Originally, the rosary consisted of fifteen mysteries which are grouped into three main mysteries: Sorrowful, Joyful and Glorious. However, in 2002, Pope John Paul II published his Apostolic Letter entitled Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae adding the five new mysteries that are called as the Luminous Mysteries or Mysteries of the Light.

The first mysteries are called joyful mysteries and are recited on Mondays and Saturdays. The Mysteries of the Light or Luminous Mysteries are recited during Thursdays. The Sorrowful Mysteries are recited on Tuesdays and Fridays and during Wednesdays and Sundays, the Glorious Mysteries are recited.

Catholics around the world associate specific values and vrtues within each mystery.

According to the Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae, ?”This indication is not intended to limit a rightful freedom in personal and community prayer, where account needs to be taken of spiritual and pastoral needs and of the occurrence of particular liturgical celebrations which might call for suitable adaptations”

The following are the twenty mysteries that Catholics should meditate:

Luminous Mysteries:

1.) The Baptism at Jordan River (Virtue of the Mystery: Openness to the Holy Spirit-the Healer.)

2.) The Wedding at Cana (Virtue of the Mystery: To Jesus through Mary. The understanding of the ability to manifest-through faith.)

3.) The Proclamation of God’s Kingdom (Virtue of the Mystery: Trust in God)

4.) The Transfiguration (Virtue of the Mystery: Desire for Holiness)

5.) The Institution of the Eucharist (Virtue of the Mystery: Adoration)

Joyful Mysteries:

1.) The Annunciation (Virtue of the Mystery: Humility)

2.) The Visitation (Virtue of the Mystery: Love of Neighbor)

3.) The Birth of Jesus Christ (Virtue of the Mystery: Poverty (poor in spirit), Detachment from the things of the world, Contempt of Riches, Love of the PooR)

You can see that there’s practical value in learning more about Rosaries. Can you think of ways to apply what’s been covered so far?

4.) The Presentation of Jesus Christ in the Temple (Virtue of the Mystery: Purity)

5.) The Finding of Jesus Christ at the Temple (Virtue of the Mystery: True Wisdom and True Conversion.)

Sorrowful Mysteries

1.) The Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane (Virtue of the Mystery: Sorrow for Sin, Uniformity with the will of God)

2.) The Scourging at the Pillar (Virtue of the Mystery: Mortification)

3.) The Crowning with Thorns (Virtue of the Mystery: Contempt of the world)

4.) The Carrying of the Cross (Virtue of the Mystery: Patience)

5.) The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus Christ (Virtue of the Mystery: Salvation)

Glorious Mysteries

1.) The Resurrection of Jesus Christ (Virtue of the Mystery: Faith)

2.) The Ascension of Jesus Christ (Virtue of the Mystery: Hope and desire for ascension to Heaven)

3.) The Coming of Holy Spirit into the Apostles Fruit of the Mystery: Holy Wisdom to know the truth and share with everyone

4.) The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Virtue of the Mystery: Grace of a Happy Death and True Devotion towards Mary)

5.) The Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Heaven (Virtue of the Mystery: Perseverance and Crown of Glory)

These twenty mysteries are very significant events during the earthly lives of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. When we pray the rosary, we do not just merely recite them, instead we meditate within our hearts and souls. When we recite the mysteries, we must think of certain mysteries that Jesus Christ or the Blessed Virgin Mary had depicted. Meditation is very powerful when we recite the rosary. With meditation, we add essentials and substance to our devotion.

When we learn how to pray the rosary, we were only concerned on mere memorizing the set of prayers and the repetitive rhythm. This is just normal. However, once we absorbed the thoughts, we must understand to determine our focus. Praying the rosary without meditation is very ineffective and hollow.

You can’t predict when knowing something extra about Rosaries will come in handy. If you learned anything new about Rosaries in this article, you should file the article where you can find it again.

The word rosary is derived from the Latin word rosarium which means rose garden or a bunch of rose flowers. The rosary is primarily devoted to the meditation of the significant events in the lives of Jesus Christ and his mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is believed that the rosary is in Marian description. Mary is believed to have miraculously symbolized for rose petals. When she was assumed into heaven, rose petals were found on her sickbed.

In the development of the present-day holy rosary, there were people who have contributed in its development that have worked hard and dedicated their efforts to the propagation of rosary as a great tool for Marian devotion. The following notable rosary people are the following:

1.) Desert Fathers
The Desert Fathers were Ascetics who lived in the deserts of Egypt around 3rd century. They were the first Christians recorded to use prayer ropes to take account of repetitive prayers of Jesus Prayer.

2.) St. Eligius
St. Eligius of Loye proposed of making a chair adorned with 150 gold and silver nails to be used as a guide in praying the Psalms of the Blessed Mary. St. Eligius is the patron saints of horses and horsemen.

3.) Venerable Bede
Venerable Bede, the Father of English History, believed that churches and public places in England and France should have available beads for the faithful. Pope Leo XIII, known as the Rosary Pope, appointed Bede as a Doctor of the Church, a very important and glorious position.

4.) Saint Aibert of Crespin
-was recorded to have recited 150 Hail Marys daily with 100 genuflexions and 50 prostrations. St. Aibert is a Benedictine monk known for his rosary prayer life and asceticism.

5.) Saint Rosalia
-also known as La Zantuzza (Little Saint) was buried with a string of prayer beads in 1160.

Hopefully the information presented so far has been applicable. You might also want to consider the following:

6.) Saint Dominic
-was believed to have accepted the Rosary from the Blessed Virgin Mary herself, creating the origin of the holy rosary. St. Dominic is the founding father of the Preacher Friars called the Dominicans.

7.) St. Louis de Monfort
-had proposed five different methods of saying the rosary that are much holier and more personal.

8.) Dominic of Prussia
-introduced in 15th century the 50 mysteries one for each Ave Maria.

9.) Pope Pius V
- is the pope who established the current form of the original fifteen (15) mysteries in 1569.

10.) Venerable Luis de Granada,
In 1587, he published in Italy a book entitled Rosario della Sacratissima Vergine Maria which also proposes methods of praying the rosary similar to the methods of St. Louis de Montfort.

11.) Pope Paul VI
In 1974 he issued the Apostolic Letter entitled Marialis Cultis which dedicated fourteen sections of the rosary to be used by the Roman Catholic Church.

12.) Pope Leo XIII
-He was known as the Rosary Pope. He is very well known to publish five Apostolic Letters and fourteen encyclicals about the importance of Marian and Rosary devotion. He also stressed the role of the Virgin Mary as the Mediatrix and Co-Redemptrix of the humanity.

13.) Pope John Paul II,
-in 2002 published the Apostolic Letter entitled, Rosarium Virginis Mariae which adds another five mysteries in praying the rosary ? the Mysteries of the Light or the Luminous Mysteries.

That’s how things stand right now. Keep in mind that any subject can change over time, so be sure you keep up with the latest news.

Budgeting is a critical step in planning and controlling your day-to-day operations. It must be given proper attention and value. But for many people, the word “budget” has a negative connotation. Its impression sounds restrictive and confining because of the complexities involved. It is a time-consuming, multi-layered, and complex process.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Financial budgeting is essential to give you control over your financial life. You can simply begin to put some of your savings toward the goals you really want to achieve some time in the future. Such plans may include a family vacation to Disney World or the construction of a new deck for the house.

Once you figure out where all your money is going, you can make sure that you are not wasting. Spending smart is the key towards better finances.

It’s a way to set financial priorities. But before you get to setting your objectives, you need to take stock of where you’re spending your money today. More than ever, really give financial budgeting a try for it may open your eyes.

You might think of a budget as financial handcuffs – meaning you are restricting yourself from spending money on the things you want. This isn’t so. Instead, think of it as a means to achieve financial success.

Whether you make thousands of dollars a year or even hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, a budget is the first and most important step you can take towards putting your money to work for you. Without good financial budgeting, you will be controlled by your impulsive spending and forever fall short of your financial goals.

So far, we’ve uncovered some interesting facts about Budgeting. You may decide that the following information is even more interesting.

When someone tries to lose weight, the more they track what they are eating and how much they exercise, they better they do. The same goes for keeping a budget because it is very easy to eat something unconsciously as spending money unconsciously as well.

Financial planners say people are often surprised to see where their money is really going each month. Most people are lucky to have anything left over at the end of the month after all the bills are paid.

When someone tries to lose weight, the more they track what they are eating and how much they exercise, they better they do. The same goes for keeping a budget because it is very easy to eat something unconsciously as spending money unconsciously as well.

The most basic part of a good financial budget is creating a realistic monthly budget. A realistic and simple budget will allow you to actually stick to it. You would be surprised at the number of people who have never taken the time to create a simple budget. Once you have created your budget, you will know if you are spending wisely or not and you may be able to find ways to invest at least enough money in a good mutual fund.

Another way to find out where your money goes is to collect all your receipts and credit card bills from the past few months. In this way you will keep track of your spending and think twice next time on purchasing on an impulse.

To those who think you know where your money goes without detailed records, keeping track of every cent you spend for one month will tell you otherwise. You will be surprised by how much some of what you think are small expenditures add up to.

Remember, being careful of your spending at present can allow you to make practical changes in the future.

There’s a lot to understand about Budgeting. We were able to provide you with some of the facts above, but there is still plenty more to write about in subsequent articles.

Many people hate these words. They associate budgeting and planning with that of a strict, low-fat, low-carb, high-protein dieting. They believe that those people who do budgeting and planning are starving themselves to death.

But the funny thing with this is that these same people who criticize budgeting and planning fail to take a look at retirees who splurge themselves during their fruitful years. Have they wondered what became of these retirees after years of no budgeting and planning? Are they blissfully spending their retirement at the Bahamas or at the fine, white sand beaches of Boracay?

This type of retirees relies solely on their social security pension and, worse, if they weren’t an active contributor to the social security system, will have to submit their fates to homes for the aged.

No one wants to be listed in this type of retirees. We all want to spend our retirement traveling around the world, relaxing on a cruise, or simply go fishing on a lake which is just a few meters away from our own comfy cottage.

We all have a dream retirement in our heads. Whatever that is, we can achieve this through budgeting and planning.

What to budget on and to plan on:

How can you put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

1. Spending
Make a spending plan – Now’s the time to change your free-spending ways. To do that, track the money that’s coming in and going out. Fortunately, there are easy ways to do that. Go online and search for “free budgeting software.” There are many free and shareware bookkeeping software around and they are easier to use and understand than complicated finance software such as Microsoft Money and Quicken. Finance software lets you track all your check writing by category and makes monthly comparisons of your actual spending to the amount you’ve budgeted.

Use a debit card instead of your credit card. This way, the amount you’re spending is the amount that is actually in your hands. Credit card allows you to spend over and above your current budget, which is bad, especially if you are not expecting any money to come in anytime soon.

2. Saving
Make a saving plan – Everytime you receive an income, whethere that be from your regular salary, bonuses or sidejobs, take at least ten percent (10%) from it as your savings. Remember, savings is not the amount left after you’ve paid for everything. Think of savings as part of expenditure; deduct it from your salary the way you do with utility bills, rent and other necessary expenses. Ten percent is automatically added to your savings account every pay day

Budgeting and planning means never finding an excuse not to save.

3. Investing
Make an investment plan – Savings are meant to keep us warm during stormy nights; and when used wisely, savings can help us achieve financial freedom before we actually retire. Make an investment out of your savings to generate income. For first time investors, use twenty-five percent (25%) of your savings as a start up investment.

You don’t have to have millions to start investing. If your start up investment is just about $1000, invest it in treasury bills to gain steady returns, or in a time deposit even for five years time only. Careful budgeting and planning will help you determine which is right for you.

There are many forms of investments out there. To avoid great loses in investment, refrain from investing in businesses or the stock market if you don’t have a financial analyst. Just invest slowly and choose investments that are, although have small returns, sure to yield results such as real estate, security bonds or treasury bills, and insurance plans.

Saint Lois of Montfort, a Catholic priest from France, presented five different methods of praying the rosary. Montfort is also a writer best known for his dedication and early efforts of promoting Marian devotion.

When he was a child he was very devoted to a prayer life basically for the Blessed Sacrament and when he was twelve years old, he studied in a Jesuit college at Rennes. He was reported to visit the local church before and after his class. After finishing school, he joined an organization of young men who helps the impoverished people and heals the sick in hospitals. When he was 19, he travelled on foot to Paris, France to study theology. At twenty seven he was ordained a priest. St. Louis of Montfort’s life was fully devoted to constant prayer, charity, love of the poor, poverty and humiliation for profession of the Catholic faith.

His works are subjected to the life and greatness of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the effectiveness of the rosary in aiding the Christians to salvation. In those early days, praying the rosary is set with a specific kind of prayer for each part. However, St. Louis proposed other methods. He believed that in order to recite the Rosary more personally and more divine, a method which is holily can be used. While meditating the joys, sorrows, and glory of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, we can stop at whenever we like and do a method you like as several saints have done before. Three other methods were mentioned in Montfort’s God Alone book.

In his first method, St. Louis did not change the Lord’s Prayer and the Hail Marys but interleaves additional petitions while praying the rosary. Like in this method, he provided specific additional prayers prior to each decade:

“We offer Thee, O Child Jesus, this third decade in honor of Thy Blessed Nativity, and we ask of Thee through this mystery and through the intercession of Thy Blessed Mother, detachment from the things of this world, love of poverty and love of the poor.”

Then, after each decade, the following prayers can be recited

? Grace of the mystery of the Incarnation, come down into my soul and make it truly humble.

You can see that there’s practical value in learning more about Rosaries. Can you think of ways to apply what’s been covered so far?

? Grace of the mystery of the Visitation, come down into my soul and make it truly charitable.

? Grace of the mystery of the Nativity, come down into my soul and make me truly poor in spirit.

? Grace of the mystery of the Purification, come down into my soul and make it really wise and really pure.

? Grace of the mystery of the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple, come down into my soul and truly convert me.

Petitions for sorrowful and glorious mysteries can also be recited similar to the prayers above with slight distinction.

In his book The Secret of the Rosary, St. Louis had described the first and second methods. The third method however is a combination of the first and two methods and was associated with the usage of the Wisdom Daughters. In the fourth method, a small meditation for each bead is used to focus each mystery of the decade. The fifth method focuses on the rosary as a whole ? its history, effectiveness, purpose.

Would you like to find out what those-in-the-know have to say about Acupuncture? The information in the article below comes straight from well-informed experts with special knowledge about Acupuncture.

If, like me, you have quite a fear of needles and injections, then acupuncture, that practice of sticking needles onto different parts of your body to cure sicknesses might seem scary at first.

However, if you’ve been long been suffering from some problems like headaches or chronic pains and your regular visits to the doctor don’t seem to be helping you, then why not consider a trip to an acupuncture specialist? After all, who hasn’t heard of somebody’s aunt somewhere suffering from arthritis and trying out everything that the doctors recommended all to no avail, only to finally be cured by a really good acupuncturist?

Perhaps you were wondering if it could actually work for you. You might feel a bit skeptical since traditional Chinese medicine doesn’t immediately coincide with theories in modern Western medicine. In fact, the use of needles to cure people was discovered thousands of years ago in China long before microscopes or x-ray machines were invented or before bacteria and germs were discovered.

When you think about it, that might be something that the practice has going for it. If it has existed already for thousands of years and is still being practiced by millions up to now, then it must have worked already for quite a number of people.

What typically happens when you go to an acupuncturist?

When you go to an acupuncturist, you would typically first be asked about your medical history, how you’re feeling and any symptoms of sicknesses you might have. The specialist would observe features of your face, including your tongue. According to specialists, your tongue is a good indicator of the health of your internal organs. The acupuncturist would listen to sounds that your body makes like the sounds coming from your lungs. How your body smells could also be an indicator of your overall health for the acupuncturist’s diagnosis.

If your Acupuncture facts are out-of-date, how will that affect your actions and decisions? Make certain you don’t let important Acupuncture information slip by you.

Based on what the acupuncturist finds out about your sickness, he or she would then formulate the treatment that your body needs. With traditional Chinese medicine, sicknesses are seen as a kind of imbalance and loss of harmony between your bodies’ organs. You can consider the use of needles on your body as just a way to push your body and its organs back into balance.

The specialist would begin inserting very thin needles into the right places in your body. To many people, inserting these needles doesn’t really hurt. After all, an acupuncturist’s needles are usually much thinner than the needles that are used for injections. Many have claimed that inserting these needles actually calms them down and relaxes them.

How does the use of these needles help you?

A lot of problems have been claimed to have been alleviated through this practice. These include headaches, the common cold, arthritis, back pains, asthma and even infertility.

Even though acupuncture isn’t part of Western medicine, Western medicine experts have studied it extensively. Some theories as to why it works involve acupuncture perhaps stimulating the brain’s release of the body’s natural painkillers. Acupuncture could also stimulate proper circulation in the human body.

Western medicine is still studying acupuncture and trying to find out how to best integrate it with practices in Western medicine. That is why, along with Western medicine and trips to the doctor, one could certainly try acupuncture.

It couldn’t hurt and it might actually be the one to finally relieve you of a lot of your body’s aches and pains and even make you healthier.

If you’ve picked some pointers about Acupuncture that you can put into action, then by all means, do so. You won’t really be able to gain any benefits from your new knowledge if you don’t use it.
